Facial treatments

Genetics, lifestyle, emotions, climate, hormonal changes… a great many factors affect your skin type. Highly professional cosmetic treatments, using world-renowned products and the latest generation of devices, are available at our salon from highly qualified staff. We will suggest an individual beauty programme tailored to the condition and needs of your skin.

MICRODERMABRASION – DIAMOND PEEL

Microdermabrasion is a type of mechanical peel performed with a device, in which diamond tips remove the surface layer of the epidermis. Microdermabrasion improves the texture and appearance of the skin and can be carried out at 7-day intervals. It is a pleasant method in which fine, specialised diamond tips improve the texture of thickened skin and restore its appearance. Microdermabrasion also gives us ideal skin preparation for other treatments, because it enhances their effect. It is used to correct fine lines, superficial scars and mild hyperpigmentation. We also use microdermabrasion as a preparatory treatment before mesoporation.

CHEMICAL PEEL

Although chemical peels have been classed among the basic facial treatments for decades, they are still surrounded by apprehension and uncertainty. There is a whole range of acids used in cosmetology for chemical peel treatments, and they can be of greater or lesser intensity (superficial or deep). A series of well-performed peels can resolve long-standing problems with hyperpigmentation (blemishes), acne and scarring, and they are also used for anti-age purposes (softening wrinkles and restoring the skin's vitality). A single treatment can also be carried out as an introduction to more complex facial treatments.
The purpose of every chemical peel is essentially to remove the surface layer of the skin, which allows better hydration and absorption of active ingredients and also restores the skin's normal pH. By removing the surface layer, the skin regenerates, its tone is restored, the complexion evens out and irregularities disappear.

A chemical peel is used for:

  • Removing hyperpigmentation
  • Evening out the complexion
  • Treating acne
  • Softening scars
  • Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
  • Soothing rosacea
  • Soothing seborrhoeic dermatitis

The recommended number of treatments depends on the skin type and its current condition and is determined by the cosmetologist. After a chemical peel the skin may be red and sensitive. Dryness, tightness and flaking occur, which is a normal and expected reaction of the skin. During the exfoliation (flaking) period it is important to use the most hydrating creams possible, so that the process is accelerated and the skin is nourished as well as possible.

Contraindications:

  • Herpes in its active phase
  • Viral warts
  • Sunburn
  • Radiation therapy

NEEDLE-FREE MESOTHERAPY – MESOPORATION

Needle-free mesotherapy (mesoporation) is a non-invasive procedure which, unlike needle mesotherapy, applies active substances deep into the layers of the skin and the subcutaneous tissue.
In this way we deliver nutrients in order to improve blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. The active substances we apply vary depending on what your skin needs. Needle-free mesotherapy is an ideal method that can also be used on sensitive skin.

NEEDLE-FREE MESOTHERAPY IS RECOMMENDED FOR:
Achieving a fresh appearance and hydration, eliminating the effects of excessive sun exposure and inadequate skin care, improving skin tone and softening dark circles and wrinkles. A series of 4 to 6 treatments ten days apart is recommended. A mesoporation treatment can also be done when we want to freshen up the face before an important event.

Benefits of needle-free mesotherapy:

  • An anti-age facial treatment for rejuvenation and complete revitalisation of the facial skin
  • Reduces wrinkles and slows the ageing of the skin
  • The treatment is completely painless and safe, it tones the skin and hydrates
  • No swelling, bruising or redness
  • All the active substances are delivered evenly into the skin.

Can be used on all skin types

DERMAPEN

The dermapen is a device based on the very latest technology, combining mesotherapy and a dermaroller in a single treatment.
This device has a special needle configuration for mesotherapy and collagen stimulation, which results in minimal damage to the skin and faster recovery, as well as better delivery of highly effective ingredients (hexagonal diamond needles made of surgical stainless steel, secured against falling out, which is very important).

The treatments successfully carried out with this procedure are:

  • Anti-age treatments (deep wrinkles, fine lines, loss of elasticity)
  • Removing pigmented spots on the skin
  • Raising hydration to the highest level
  • Removing acne scars
  • Various forms of alopecia (baldness) and hair loss
  • Treating stretch marks

It is worth noting that the needle length on the dermapen device can be adjusted, which makes it possible to treat the entire surface of the face (or body) depending on the type, condition and indication of the skin. Recovery is very quick, within just 24-48h, with minimal to moderate redness, which is an advantage over other, more aggressive treatments.
The number of treatments depends on the condition of the client's skin; the average is 4-6 treatments at 30-day intervals.
The Mezopen dermafix is designed to cause minimal trauma to the skin while delivering excellent results.

PLEASE NOTE:
It is important to bear in mind that every sterile tip is opened in front of the client, which rules out any skin infection.

SKIN OXYGENATION

Oxygen is used in cosmetic treatments to rejuvenate the skin, but what does that actually mean and is it effective? Active oxygen is a natural substance, essential to our body, which enters the cells and activates their oxygenation and regeneration. Active oxygen compounds are part of our immune system and as such the body recognises them as its own. This is very important, because it ensures the absence of allergies and other unwanted reactions. Active oxygen also has many applications thanks to the fact that it effectively destroys gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, viruses and fungi, so it is used as a treatment for acne-prone skin, rosacea, eczema and other conditions.

How is active oxygen used?
Products based on active oxygen come in the form of a gel, cream, serum, solution or mask. There are also treatments in beauty salons in which particles of pure oxygen are injected into the skin under pressure. Oxygen used to be applied locally to speed up the healing of wounds, especially burns. Pressurised oxygen is still used in hospitals for this purpose, because damaged skin needs a steady supply of oxygen in order to speed up cell metabolism and increase its regenerative power.

Research shows that:

  • By the age of 30 the oxygen level in the skin drops by 25%.
  • By the age of 40 the oxygen level in the skin drops by as much as 50%.
  • The level of oxygen in the skin falls further still in a polluted environment.
  • The oxygen content of the skin is reduced by smoking and other unhealthy lifestyle habits.

What are the results?
Skin that does not have enough oxygen can look lifeless and wrinkled. By contrast, studies show that skin treated with oxygen looks younger, restored and healthier. With this in mind, oxygen-based products are used to regenerate damaged tissue, they improve cell recovery and soften the effects of ageing. Treatment with active oxygen products results in more elastic skin and improved collagen production. Products containing oxygen restore the epidermis, improve cell metabolism and help to soften the effects of ageing. Oxygen products also help with acne and rosacea, because they kill the bacteria that cause these conditions.

So, active oxygen applied to the skin:

  • Stimulates cell metabolism
  • Regenerates
  • Stimulates collagen synthesis
  • Fights bacteria and fungi

How do active oxygen products work?
Oxygenation is the mechanism by which the skin is supplied with oxygen in its active form. On contact with the surface of the skin, active oxygen is released in the form of numerous tiny bubbles, which has a positive effect on the condition of the skin. If white foam appears after contact with the skin, it means that the skin surface has been altered, damaged or infected. This contact triggers a chemical reaction between the active oxygen compounds and the metal ions in the membrane of the pathogens, causing their destruction.
By releasing oxygen in the form of an oxygen compound and water, this active form of oxygen then passes into the cells and activates the oxygenation process in the mitochondria, at the same time creating ATP energy. In this way the cell is regenerated and supplied with oxygen through its own natural mechanism, which is the most effective and the most intensive one.
The treatment has no contraindications and is suitable for all skin types.

RADIOFREQUENCY LIFTING – WHAT IS IT?
Radiofrequency lifting is the most effective non-surgical treatment for rejuvenating the face and body. It serves to remove wrinkles and tighten sagging skin. The procedure is simple, completely safe and requires no form of anaesthesia. The effects of the treatment are visible immediately (regenerated collagen), with a further effect over the following 15 to 30 days from the new collagen being formed.
WHICH STRUCTURES IN THE SKIN DO RADIO WAVES ACT ON?
The presence of collagen and elastin in the skin is crucial to maintaining a youthful appearance, and their production begins to decline as early as the age of 25. The skin starts to sag and the first wrinkles appear.
The radiofrequency lifting (RFL) method heats the middle layer of the skin, where collagen and elastin are found – the elastic fibres that give the skin its firmness. The skin responds to this heating by starting the process of renewing those elastic fibres. The result is a tightening effect, caused by the collagen reacting by firming up and gaining density. Evenly emitted heat allows the tissue to be heated more effectively and to reach the temperature needed to strengthen the collagen fibres more quickly.
In older people, radiofrequency lifting serves to soften wrinkles that are already visible and to tighten sagging skin. This treatment is suitable for the face and body: wrinkles and lines around the eyes, drooping eyelids, under-eye bags, wrinkles on the forehead and face, sagging cheeks, nasolabial folds, a double chin and neck wrinkles. Sagging skin on the décolletage, chest, arms, stomach, thighs and knees is also treated. Radio waves are also used in treatments to reduce stretch marks.
HOW IS RADIOFREQUENCY LIFTING CARRIED OUT?
A gel is applied over the treated area and a small probe is guided across the surface of the face, generating heat. The procedure takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area being treated. It has no unwanted effects and requires no particular rest afterwards, so you can return to your everyday activities freely and comfortably.
For complete and long-lasting results, a series of 2 to 4 treatments is needed for the face and 4 to 6 for the body, with an interval of two to three weeks between treatments. The number of treatments depends on the problem and the area being treated, as well as on the cumulative synthesis of new collagen and elastin. The aim of this treatment is to preserve and extend a youthful appearance, and it is also the right path to achieving a good appearance, inner balance and growing confidence.
WHAT ARE THE CONTRAINDICATIONS?
The contraindications are: malignant processes in the body, diseases of the connective and muscle tissue, the presence of a cardiac pacemaker, the presence of metal implants, coagulation disorders, hepatitis infections, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
INDICATIONS:
FACE: radiofrequency lifting is used for atonic skin, premature ageing, photo-ageing, dehydration, reduced skin turgor and before and after surgical treatments. On the forehead and around the eyes, finer wrinkles disappear and deep ones become significantly shallower, nasolabial folds are reduced and the skin tightens. The neck area is where the signs of skin ageing show first, and after radio wave treatment its quality improves significantly.
BODY: skin lifting can be carried out after a cavitation treatment, followed by tightening of the chest, buttocks and sagging skin (stomach, inner thighs, arms), then reduction of stretch marks and anti-cellulite work.
Long-lasting results in reducing wrinkles and tightening the skin are achieved with a series of 3-4 treatments spaced ten days to two weeks apart, thanks to the cumulative synthesis of new collagen and elastin. Depending on age and the depth of the wrinkles, one treatment every 2 months is recommended to maintain the effect achieved.

HAIR REMOVAL

HAIR REMOVAL - PERMANENT OR LONG-LASTING?
Year after year the method of removing unwanted hair from all parts of the body keeps improving, but we still cannot speak of a „permanent“ solution to this problem. However, with regular repetition of hair removal treatments over an appropriate period of time, one thing is certain – the thickness of the hair changes, the hairs become ever finer and weaker, and each new treatment strengthens the effect.

WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT INVOLVE?
The treatment is very simple and quick. It is accompanied by a mild tingling on the skin, but it is not among the painful treatments. At Mystique we use a top-quality hair removal device that emits a powerful beam of light and directs it at the hairs. The black pigment in the hair, melanin, attracts the beam of light and absorbs a large amount of energy, which destroys the hair follicle. Since the beam of light acts only on hairs in the growth phase, the treatment should be repeated several times in order to achieve excellent results and cover the whole area evenly.

WHEN SHOULD HAIR REMOVAL BE DONE?
The ideal time for hair removal treatments is the winter months, when the body is covered by layers of clothing and not exposed to the sun. Sun-tanned skin is not an ideal base for a good result, and sunbathing is also not recommended after hair removal (for at least two weeks) in order to avoid hyperpigmentation.

WHICH PARTS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED?
All areas of the face and body covered with hair – from the upper lip and chin to the underarms, bikini line, legs, arms, stomach and back... Hair removal is equally popular with women and men, and the number of treatments depends on the area being treated, on gender, on skin type and on the coarseness of the hair itself. Treatments are repeated every few weeks, and the great news is that the first significant results can be seen after the very first treatment.
The treatment is not recommended for pregnant women, for people with any kind of skin disease, or for those on stronger hormone therapy.
